Dear FGCS Families - We discovered today that several students in
Level 1 classes have head lice. All Level 1 students have been checked
and parents notified if signs of lice were observed. Siblings of
students with lice were also checked but all of those students were
clear.
We are at this moment in the process of checking Level 2 students but
time may not allow us to complete the process today; we will finish
checking tomorrow but strongly recommend that you check your student
at home. Because Level 3 and 4 students are housed in separate
buildings, we do not plan to check all of those students except
siblings of younger students who are infected.
Because lice are easily spread, we are passing along a link to an
information sheet about preventing and treating lice.

Even if your child does not have lice, we recommend that you
immediately wash his/her coat and other clothing as a precaution. We
also ask that you talk with your child about ways to avoid getting
head lice, including not sharing combs, brushes, hats, headbands,
earphones and other headwear. You may wish to check your child's head
at home, even if it was checked at school. If you note any signs of
lice, please do not send your child to school until he/she has been
treated and is nit-free - this is an important precaution for the
protection of all students and their families.
