 Upcoming events at our Community School ... FGCS BACK-TO-SCHOOL NIGHT 6-7:30 p.m. TOMORROW (Weds., 9/23/09)
Please plan to attend this event to learn more about our program at FGCS. There will be group presentations in all classrooms that will cover details of what students will be studying this year, personal learning plans and progress reports. Each classroom will hold two presentations for parents who need to visit two classrooms - 6-6:45 p.m. and 6:45-7:30 p.m. The FGCS Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and Strategic Planning Committees will have information tables in the main hallway - stop by to find out how you can get involved in these efforts to support our school. Please note that this is an 'adults only' event; thanks in advance for making other arrangements for your children during this time.

FGCS-PTO MEETING 7-8 P.M. Thurs., Sept. 24/FREE CHILD CARE PROVIDED!
Come get involved with this dedicated group of FGCS parents committed to supporting our students and teachers. PTO will meet in HS North with free child care provided in the adjacent HS South classroom.
Note: The regular PTO meeting will be the third Thursday of every month in the high school building. Next month's meeting will be Thurs., Oct. 15. For more information about PTO, please contact president Jasmine Gravley at jasminemg8@gmail.com.
STRATEGIC PLANNING 'MEET & GREET' 7-8:30 p.m. Thurs., Oct. 1: Hosted by the FGCS Board, this event will include an overview of the plan and breakout sessions for committees that will work to implement goals outlined in the strategic plans. Committees seeking members include ecoliteracy/sustainability curriculum; professional development; strategic partnerships; communications; facilities; and assessment. PARENT-TEACHER CONFERENCES THURS./FRI. OCT. 8-9 (NO SCHOOL) - Stay tuned for more information about signing up for a 30-minute conference with your student's teacher. These conferences include students and focus on academic and personal goals for the coming year.
STUDENT PICTURES - FRI., OCT. 23 - Watch for order forms to come home the week before to order student photos.
