 Don't forget our annual back-to-school picnic this Saturday, Aug. 29 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Thatcher Park in Forest Grove. We'll celebrate the bounty of the Pacific Northwest harvest season with a potluck - please bring a dish to share and your own table service (plates, utensils, cups and napkins). We'll provide cold beverages. There's a great play area at Thatcher Park but feel free to bring Frisbees, soccer balls or other outdoor toys.
The picnic is a great chance to connect with friends and meet new classmates and teachers (Note: Some teachers have prior family commitments, so all may not be able to attend). We'll have information about ways you can get involved with FGCS (classroom volunteering, PTO and more!). We'll also have info about waste-free lunches, including the chance to purchase locally made sandwich wraps and lunch bags to reduce waste in school lunches.
We look forward to seeing you all on August 29th!
DIRECTIONS TO THATCHER PARK
From downtown Forest Grove, take Pacific Ave. (OR Rt. 8) west about 1 mile until it splits (landmark: Plaid Pantry store). Veer slightly right onto Thatcher Road. Continue on Thatcher to NW David Hill Road. Turn left on David Hill to Thatcher Park.
